Welcome Back!

I am excited to start our 2012-2013 school year together! We are getting into the swing of things, and I know that Mrs. Danis and our student teacher Miss Stebich are thrilled to start making music with us.

Along with our choir ensembles we have a new exciting program for our middle school musicians and actors.  The Oh! Pierre Improv Ensemble will meet Wednesday mornings at 7:30 starting September 19th!  This group is NON-AUDITION, meaning all can join!  We will be experimenting with improvisation games for music, movement and acting.  This is a great way to explore our creativity, improve on your improvisation skills for jazz band, prep for play auditions and have a ton of fun!

As a quick reminder for our before school groups, here are our meeting times:

4th & 5th Grade Choir- Tuesday mornings 7:30AM
Oh! Pierre Improv Ensemble-  Wednesday mornings 7:30AM
Advanced Choir- Friday mornings 7:30AM

Recess Rehearsals are as follows:

6th Grade Choir- Monday
Advanced Choir- Tuesday
Concert Choir (7/8)- Thursday

MILES FOR MUSIC!

Here's how the charity works: Once you have a minimum of 10 participants on your team, “Cranbury School”, you will be eligible to receive funds back to your music program. Your school will receive a portion of the event proceeds based on the number of participants registered for your team, so the more people registered for your team, the more money you get back!

The actual amount of the donations won't be determined until the completion of the event and all of the revenues from registrations, donations, fundraising, and sponsorships have been calculated.

Impromptu Muppet Party!

Since so many of you have noticed my excitement about the new Muppet Movie that will be opening this weekend, and many of you have requested to share in the experience with me I am posting the following:

I will be viewing the Muppet Movie at AMC Hamilton Theater (325 Sloan Avenue, Hamilton, NJ 08619) at 10:50 AM on Saturday November 26th. I chose the morning time, so in case we have a large group together we will won't run out of tickets. I will arrive at the theater at about 10:30 AM. If you and your families would like to join in all the Muppet fun, you can meet me there :)

Please listen through your songs (check out the school music website). So far posted on the sight is Baby Please Come Home, All I Want for Christmas is You and Ave Maria. Be sure to do some listening and memorizing on your own!
